Celebrating two huge achievements!

NHP is celebrating two huge achievements: 600 care-experienced young people have now moved into homes of their own as part of the growing House Project community which is now made up of over 1000 young people.

What began 10 years ago in Stoke-on-Trent as an idea from young people who wanted to leave care with better support and friendship has become a national success, supporting young people across England and Scotland in 22 local authority areas.

The approach offers more than housing - it builds a sense of belonging, purpose, and interdependence, supporting young people to live with confidence and support. With positive independent evaluations, EET at 75%, and savings to LA budgets, our approach continues to be developed, and we aim to continue to grow by 5 LHPs a year.

This achievement is about so much more than just numbers, it demonstrates a growing community of young people leaving care, living connected and fulfilling lives through developing friendships and community, and really showcases the significant difference meaningful relationships can make.

To every young person, staff member, partner, and local authority that’s helped make this happen: thank you. We will continue to work together to grow the community and develop the offer to ensure that care-experienced young people continue to leave care well.
